Max W. Schlotter Scholarship

The Max W. Schlotter Scholarship, in the amount of $1000, will be awarded to two Region 6 graduating seniors (December 2020 or May 2021) who plan to major in education. The students must pursue an education in a Texas college or university. To be considered, this form must be completed electronically or typed (not handwritten) and submitted to:

Additional Requirements:

  • One letter of recommendation from a teacher/administrator of applicant’s choice must accompany application.
  • Essay: Please respond in depth to the provided questions. Essay must be typed.

Scholarship: A unique federally-funded educational support and scholarship program that helps more than 2,000 students annually from migrant and seasonal farm-working backgrounds to reach and succeed in college.

Charles Butt Scholarship for Aspiring Teachers

The Charles Butt Scholarship for Aspiring Teachers – one component of the Raising Texas Teachers initiative – is designed to encourage the best and brightest students to consider a future in the teaching profession. Scholars receive up to $8,000 in annual funding for up to four years, as well as ongoing professional development opportunities, mentorship from sitting public school educators, and participation in a statewide aspiring teachers network facilitated by the Raise Your Hand Texas Foundation.

Must intend to enter SOCIAL STUDIES education field

Texas Council for the Social Studies

Up to 4 Grants Awarded Annually

$500 grant for classroom materials, professional development, first time attendance at TCSS Fall Conference

Who is eligible? Current social studies educators who have been members of TCSS for at least 2 years

Each grant recipient must follow up with a lesson plan for The Texan, presentation to their local council, state conference, or other approved means.

The Texas Match the Promise Foundationâ„  encourages families to save for college by offering competitive matching scholarships and tuition grants to students who are beneficiaries of a Texas Tuition Promise Fund® account — the state's prepaid college tuition plan.

The Chairman Tommy Taylor Memorial Scholarship

The Chairman Tommy Taylor Memorial Scholarship was established in 2015 to honor the legacy of Mr. Tommy Taylor. Mr. Taylor served as Chairman of the Board of the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers from 2010 to 2012, and his accomplishments were many. He earned a degree from the University of Texas at Austin in Petroleum Land Management, and he bought and sold oil and gas properties throughout Texas and the nation.

The scholarship will be an ongoing tribute to Mr. Taylor and his commitment to the industry that he loved and to the Texas Alliance.
