The Texas Education Code requires that the Commissioner of Education recommend an appraisal process for superintendents that must include a student performance domain (Sec. 39.054). School districts may either use the Commissioner’s Recommended Student Performance Domain or they may adopt a process, and criteria, that have been locally developed in consultation with district and campus-level committees.
Region 6 ESC provides training for the statutory requirements for Administrator Appraisal and the Student Performance Domain. The training is mandatory unless the district has adopted its own local process/criteria and is conducted in a two-hour timeframe.
